Osaka

My theme for this year is architecture and to narrow it down: Friedrich Hundertwasser, architect, painter and environmentalist. His use of bright colours and fluid lines have attracted me for a long time, straight lines are "the tool of the devil". His work will keep me inspired for a long time.

Osaka

Hundertwasser designed the facade of a factory in Osaka, Japan. He used black and white square tiles in different sizes, interspersed with orange pillars

I tried to create the same effect by weaving black and white strips of fabric in different widths, with orange vertical bands. Stitched down in a square pattern and bound with a bias strip of striped fabric
