Doors

My challenge for this year is using the photographs I took on holiday in Tunesia in portrait.

The doors were really eye catching, not only the colours but the shapes and sizes as well.

This Month September 2015 quilt.

Door in Kairouan

The distressed look of this door appealed to me.

I created the look by discharging hand-dyed fabric, applique all the door furniture and stitched down.

I brought some colour back in with pens and Inktense pencils.

Machine quilted and finished with a pillowcase binding. Hemstitched down.
