Art Nouveau In Europe and North America

My challenge for this year is using Art Nouveau expressions in portrait.

The Embrace.

Gustav Klimt, also a member of the Secession Group in Vienna, finds the spirit of Jugendstil. His inspiration comes from Japanese print design and application of bold colours and is influenced by Greece and Byzantium and medieval paintings.

I used pieces of cloth that I painted and printed, cut in shapes and stitched down.

Accents were made with paint, stamps, pens and a little gold leave.

Machine quilted and pillow case bounded.
