Art Nouveau In Europe and North America

My challenge for this year is using Art Nouveau expressions in portrait.

Can Can .

This is an illustration by Toulouse-Lautrec.

He was drawn to the every day life of inhabitants of Montmartre, where he lived. He depicted, for example Louise Weber and her partner Renaudin. This poster was a reflection of their nicknames; La Goulue = The Glutton, Valentin le Désossé = The Boneless.

Raw edge appliqué, stitched down.

Machine quilted, some enhancements with pens.

Pillowcase binding and hand hem stitched.
